Marty Walsh and John Connolly are the top finishers in the preliminary election for mayor.

Massachusetts representative Walsh (D-Dorchester), with 20,854 votes, and City Councilor Connolly, with 19,436, finish ahead of Charlotte Golar Richie, 15,546, Daniel Conley, 12,775, Felix Arroyo, 9,895, John Barros, 9,148, Rob Consalvo, 8,603, Michal Ross, 8,164, Bill Walczak, 3,825, Charles Yancey, 2,389, Charles Clemons Jr., 1,800, David James Wyatt (R), 334, and all other write-in votes, 130. Turnout is 113,319, 30.8% of the registered voters.
